THURSDAY 23 JULY
Best-known for her legendary one-woman shows, Jo Caulfield is “one of the finest female comics at work” (The Observer) and has recently been nominated as “the best female Stand-Up in the country” (Chortle.co.uk). “She is, quite simply, a damn funny woman” (The Scotsman).
A regular guest on Mock The Week (BBC2) and Have I Got News For You (BBC1), Jo also wrote and starred in 3 series of her own critically acclaimed Radio 4 comedy show, “It’s That Jo Caulfield Again”. Other recent TV appearances include: Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC2), Saturday Night Live (ITV1) and she is also Graham Norton’s head writer.
“Wonderfully sharp and bitchy” ★★★★★ (The Observer)
“One of Britain’s smartest cpmics. She never fails to nail the laugh” ★★★★★ (The Scotsman)
“Definitely the rising star of women’s comedy. Her mixture of cutthroat wit and wildly accurate observation regularly brings audiences to their knees with laughter.” (Evening Standard
THE BOY WITH TAPE ON HIS FACE
A unique silent comedy phenomenon who has won standing ovations across the globe, including a sold-out season in London's West End and the Royal Variety Performance.
'The Boy' is New Zealand's Sam Wills, whose piercing blue eyes stare out above a mouth that remains firmly sealed with gaffer tape throughout the show. Everyday objects are put to incredible new uses, with the help of genius slapstick imagination and a brilliant, popular soundtrack. Each carefully prepared scene builds suspense until its hilarious and unpredictable climax... sometimes with the help of audience volunteers!
Wills is a mad scientist of vaudevillian pranks, and a multi award winner, who reminds us that life is an adventure…
In The Boy's world of possibilities, the only certainty is laughter. Mime with noise, stand-up with no talking – drama with no acting. The Boy has to be seen to be believed.
“The Boy With Tape on His Face is utterly spectacular! Endlessly inventive, hysterically funny. Sublime physical lunacy – fight for a ticket.” (Tim Arthur, Time Out)
“A truly magical experience” (Chortle)
JOHN MANN (mc)
Original Carrow Road club host and favourite, his down to earth easy going style and silly gags have ensured a place in the history of the Red Card Comedy Club.
FRIDAY 24 JULY
Fresh from a marathon UK tour, Laugh In The Park are delighted to have secured Seann to headline our Friday night. Star of Channel 4’s ‘Stand Up For The Week’, BBC1’s ‘Live At The Apollo’ and ‘Michael McIntryre’s Comedy Roadshow’, and Dave’s ‘Argumental’, Seann is a charming and charismatic natural born observational storyteller, and one of the most frighteningly precocious talents to emerge from the UK comedy circuit in years.
Within two years of his first comedy performance, Seann was the winner of the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year, followed by Chortle Best Breakthrough Act Nominee 2010 and Chortle Best Compere Nominee 2011.
Seann Walsh has also starred in his own series ‘Seann Walsh World’ (Comedy Central) and is quickly becoming a well-respected comedy actor performing in ‘Big Bad World’ (Comedy Central) and BBC1’s new series ‘Monks’. Other recent TV appearances include: Channel 4’s Comedy Gala Live At The 02 (2012 and 2013), Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC2), Celebrity Juice (ITV2), Mock The Week (BBC2), 8 Out Of 10 Cats (Channel 4) and Alan Carr: Chatty Man (Channel 4)
His debut DVD Seann Walsh: Seann to be Wild, was recorded at Hammersmith Apollo and released last year.
“one of comedy’s hottest properties………very funny, very energetic..." (Bruce Dessau, Evening Standard)
“comedy at its sharpest” (The Independent)

Runner-Up Leicester Mercury Comedian Of The Year 2013 and Finalist NATYS (formerly Hackney Empire New Act Show) 2012, Mark Simmons is a quirky comic whose delightfully dafted but carefully crafted jokes will take you on a gentle jaunt through the meandering labyrinth of his pun-ridden mind.
“A talented comic with an artisan’s grasp of joke-writing” (Chortle)
“Simmons’s hit rate is remarkably high, and he’s charmingly goofy” (Time Out)
“perfectly-timed, clever one-liners” (Leicester Mercury)
SATURDAY 25 JULY
Laugh In The Park are delighted to have one of the best UK headliners topping the bill as part of our ‘Classic Club’ Saturday line up.
"the magnificent Simon Evans … with his aloof presence and precise, sardonic wit, dripping disdain from every perfectly pronounced word. And what words…” (Chortle)
Seen on Live At The Apollo, Michael McIntyres Roadshow and Mock The Week, and a regular on Radio Four Comedy, Evans excels in routines that are adult in the best sense of the word, prompting reviewers to describe him as "demonically dry” (Metro) and “sublime” (The Guardian)
He’s the writer of choice for Dara O Briain, Sean Lock, Jimmy Carr, Marcus Brigstocke and Lee Mack among others. He is a familiar voice on BBC Radio 4 as a regular on The News Quiz, The Unbelievable Truth and Armando Iannucci’s Charm Offensive. Evans has anchored and written seven series of the news satire The Way It Is. He’s also laboured bravely in the face of ultimately overwhelming opposition as part of the Comedians’ team on University Challenge – The Professionals.
Gary Delaney is a razor sharp one-liner comedian, who is widely regarded as being the most quotable comic on the circuit. The sheer number of outstanding gags leaves the audience struggling to remember them all.
A regular guest on Mock The Week and with appearances on Dave's 'One Night Stand', Comedy Central's ‘The Comedy Store’ and 'Comedy Blue', and on Channel 4’s ‘Robert’s Web’. He has also been on Radio 4’s ‘Loose Ends’, Radio 5’s ‘7 Day Saturday’ and Radio 2’s ‘Russell Kane’s Whistle-Stop Tour’.
Not for the feint hearted but so rollickingly funny we have to urge you to come and see him - Delaney churns over massive amounts of material, all toe-curlingly dry one-liners and punchlines that just keep on coming.
Star of Stand Up For the Week and Campus (C4), Live at the Apollo, QI, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Mock The Week and Twenty Twelve (BBC), Sara was nominated for best comedy show at the 2014 Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Awards and was winner of the 2014 Chortle Breakthrough Award. With a comedy brain that leaps from stimulating arguments onto abstract confabulation with lumpy doses of openness, honesty and earnestness, Sara Pascoe is a truly exciting talent and destined for the silver screen.
"Pascoe’s lively mind teases out big questions with intelligence, silliness and self-deprecation" (The Guardian)
"Always clever and sometimes exquisite" (Independent)ing.
Critically acclaimed comic, internationally famed meme & wonderfully nice gentleman, "Nish Kumar is a comedian, and a bloody good one at that" (Time Out). Nominated for the 2015 Best Compere Award by industry website Chortle, Nish has achieved huge success on the stand-up circuit and TV appearances on The Alternative Comedy Experience for Comedy Central & curated by Stewart Lee, Live at the Comedy Store (Paramount), Live At The Edinburgh Festival (BBC Three), Sweat The Small Stuff (BBC Three) and Alan Davies As Yet Untitled (Channel Dave).
‘Slick, sharp and with oodles of charm.’★★★★ (Time Out)
‘Brilliantly executed…. a show that should win Kumar a lot more fans.’ ★★★★ (Bruce Dessau, Beyond the Joke)
‘A highly polished, subtly innovative stand-up…. He nails the punchlines over and over again, thanks to taut, economical writing that puts audience pleasure firmly ahead of self-indulgence…. His is a talent worth catching up with.’ (Guardian)
SUNDAY 26 JULY
Squeezing in a festival date in amongst a mammoth national tour, we are thrilled to have Lee headlining our final show.
“The hottest creation since Ali G and Vicky Pollard.” (The Daily Mirror)
Bringing the best of his ‘Suited and Booted' tour material plus selected favourite club classics and (we hope) surprise appearances from some of his other characters, acclaimed character comedian Simon Brodkin’s irrepressible South London alter-ego has become one of the biggest comedy names on TV. Lee Nelson's Well Good Show and Lee Nelson's Well Funny People, numerous guest TV appearances plus hosting and twice appearing as a guest on Live at the Apollo (BBC One) - and released a live DVD – this lively lad is “Never lost for words, never less than ingenious” (The Times)
“As comic inventions go, Simon Brodkin’s south London council estate geezer Lee Nelson is up with the best.” (Daily Telegraph)
“With look, confidence, charm and great material, expect other comics to lynch him” (The Sunday Times)
Tom Deacon has been performing stand-up for the last 7 years. Since winning the Chortle Student Comedy Award in 2007, he has hosted his own BBC Radio 1 show, done some telly (The Rob Brydon Show, Fake Reaction, Dave’s One Night Stand), and followed The World Cup & The Champions League around the world as 'The Eurofan' – notching up over one million views on YouTube.
He’s also “a mighty fine comic” according to The Guardian. In 2013 he performed at the prestigious Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow for 3 weeks in sold-out 1,000 seater theatres. In 2014 took his solo show 'Get Your Deac-On!' to the Edinburgh Fringe as well as hosting 'Videonation' on Challenge TV.)
CARL DONNELLY (mc)
2013 Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Carl has been performing stand-up since 2005 and is one of the UK’s most exciting young comedians. His conversational, silly sense of humour has won him a host of awards (Edinburgh Best Newcomer nominee, Chortle Best Newcomer, Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year) and TV appearances on Mock The Week, Russell Howards Good News Show and Stand Up For The Week.
"Excellent, fast-rising comic with pacy anecdotal routines" (Sunday Times)
